Biography
Dr. Myron W. Smith graduated from Duke University with a BSE in Biomedical Engineering and then received his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital residency program in Miami, Florida. He is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery, with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Smith’s interests lie in treating knee, hip, and shoulder injuries and degenerative changes, sports medicine/arthroscopy, knee and hip replacement surgery. He has 15 years of experience covering high school athletic teams.
He has served in many leadership roles, including Chief of Surgery, President of a Hospital Medical Staff, and President of a large orthopedic surgery group. More recently, he has served a three year term as Orthopedic Service Line Leader of Mission Hospital. Presently, he serves on the Orthopedic Executive Committee at Mission and is a member of the Board of Trustees at CarePartners.
Dr. Smith is pleased to be a part of the community where he and his family have lived for over 20 years.
